ISSUES:

The FACT that the general fund is overspent by $1.3 billion more than it takes in in all taxes and fees every biennium during an oil boom, screams that we are spending too much. It takes strong leadership done by people who don’t have conflicts of interest or prejudges as to why roll backs are made. Government serving the most people doing the most good is most important.

I think it is the right and responsibility of the parents to educate their children as they see fit, and it is NOT the responsibility of the public school systems to indoctrinate children on nontraditional matters. The basics are the most important in education and unfortunately are being neglected as test scores have proven.

Our state government has become too powerful because weak legislators have given up their power to the executive branch. They prefer to have the “experts” tell us how to run our lives. I want to take back the power that is in the constitution which has a weaker administration branch and let the PEOPLE tell them what they want. The agencies were intended to be the public servant and have now become the public masters. My experience with government managers is it usually boils down to two things: their salary and their workload. If the first one is going up and the second one is going down, you are in good shape with them.

Taxes are not going down even though they should be. I believe in lower taxes especially in property tax and income tax. Our property taxes have become such a political football that it is time for an overhaul. Some people (elderly) can’t afford to own property because of the upward swings in property taxes. The Legislature did a good thing by giving credit for income tax this past session, but we must expand it and make it permanent.

Economic Development. What does that mean? If it means taking the taxpayer’s money and giving it to a board who will give grants and in doing so, pick winners and losers in business? Then I am against it. If it means taking private donations from the wealthy and businesses and giving it to a board to pick winners and losers, then I am ok with it. The problem is that the board usually picks its friends as winners and its enemies as losers, and these choices may be just the opposite of mine.

I believe in the second amendment and have an A rating from the NRA. The only way to ensure a free people is to keep them armed. I am Pro Life and believe that life begins at conception. I also have a 100% rating with Pro Life organizations.

As important as these two items are, because a person is pro-gun and pro life does not make them a conservative. I feel you need to believe in a strong national defense, individual responsibility, limited government, and lower taxes; and your voting record must show that! If it doesn’t, then that person is not a conversative. The only way we are going to get government under control is to elect strong conservatives!

"I have a proven conservative voting record and would like to ask for your vote!"
